Paik Seung-ho joined Blues in January 2024, signing a two-and-a-half-year contract.
The goalscoring midfielder was the Club's second capture of the winter transfer window, arriving in England following three years playing for Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors in his homeland, South Korea, winning the K. League and domestic cup.
He had previously spent more than a decade as both a youth and professional in Europe, with this time on the continent starting in the academy at FC Barcelona and across six years, he progressed from Under-13s to playing in Segunda B for their B team when he debuted against Atletico Levante in February 2016.
A short move north in Catalonia saw him join Girona the following summer and whilst most of his football was for their reserve side, Peralada, he did represent the first team during La Liga and Copa Del Rey matches.
In August 2019, Paik made the move to Germany where he linked up with 2. Bundesliga outfit Darmstadt 98. There he averaged a goal contribution every five matches, with a strike in the DFB-Polkal helping die Lilien to reach the competition's last 16.
When joining Birmingham City, he had received 15 full international caps and was utilised by South Korea at the 2022 FIFA Men’s World Cup, scoring superbly when they faced Brazil in the Round of 16, before winning the Asian Games 10 months later.
