Keshi Anderson joined Blues in July 2023, signing a one-year contract after
a successful trial period.
During this, he provided two assists, versus Solihull Moors and FC
Cartagena, and 90 minutes after his arrival was formally announced, he
scored in another pre-season friendly as Birmingham City won 2-3 at
Cheltenham Town
Anderson’s football journey began in step four of the non-league pyramid
with Barton Rovers, where he prolific goal rate of 26 strikes in 41 matches
led to admiring glances from Cambridge United, Oxford United and
Norwich City.
Then, when on trial for Brentford, after 19 counters in 19 games midway
through the 2014/15 season, he notched a six-minute perfect hat-trick
versus Crystal Palace which awakened the Eagles to his capabilities and
saw them outlay a fee in the region of £30,000. He netted on his debut for
Crystal Palace’s Under-21s, but over the next three years, he would only
ever be an unused substitute for the Selhurst Park Club’s first team.
Instead, his game education continued through a number of Football
League loans and in the first-half of 2015/16, he played nine times and
scored three goals for Doncaster Rovers, only for a broken leg suffered
against Rochdale to see him return to his parent club. A further move to
the north saw him join Bolton Wanderers a year later ahead of loan to
Northampton Town in January 2017. These spells yielded four further
professional counters.
Swindon came calling that summer and a half-season loan was agreed
before the switch was made permanent in January 2018. In total,
Anderson would turn out 109 times for the Robins and win the 2020 Sky
Bet League Two title under the management of his former Doncaster
teammate Richie Wellens.
Following that triumph, pastures new took him to Blackpool and a year on,
the Seasiders clinched promotion under the arch at Wembley Stadium,
beating Lincoln City in the Sky Bet League One Play-Off Final as he played
79 minutes of the win. Two seasons were put under his belt in the Sky Bet
Championship before he left Bloomfield Road at the end of 2022/23.
