FIRST MEN'S TEAM

The 31-year-old striker arrives in B9 on a three-year deal and brings significant pedigree and experience.

Ducksch initially made his name in the Borussia Dortmund academy, rising through the youth ranks at BVB before being handed his senior debut by then boss Jürgen Klopp in 2013. A prolific scorer at youth level, he was part of the side that won the German A-Junior Championship in the same year.

After gaining valuable experience during loan spells with SC Paderborn and St. Pauli, he truly came into his own at Holstein Kiel, where he scored 19 goals and 12 assists in a breakout 2017/18 Bundesliga 2 season. That form earned him widespread recognition and a move up the German footballing ladder.

Following a single season with Fortuna Düsseldorf, Hannover 96 secured his signature where again he once again found the back of the net with regularity, adding a further 34 goals in 70 outings for Die Roten.

His next chapter came with Werder Bremen, where he was instrumental in the club’s 2021/22 promotion back to the Bundesliga, finishing the campaign with 21 league goals and forming a devastating partnership with Niclas Füllkrug. The duo continued their form in the top-flight, combining for over 30 goals in their first Bundesliga season together.

A tall, technically gifted attacker, Ducksch is known for his intelligent movement, pinpoint finishing, and vision in the final third. Comfortable dropping deep to link play, he often operates as a creative focal point, boasting an impressive range of passing and set-piece ability. His calmness and composure in front of goal has made him a consistent threat at the highest levels of German football.

During the past three seasons in the Bundesliga, Ducksch has netted 54 goals and registered 40 assists in 134 appearances for Werder Bremen.

Ducksch’s performances at club level also caught the attention of Julian Nagelsmann and earned him a first call-up to the German national team in September 2023, making his debut in a friendly against Japan.
