Chris Davies hailed Birmingham City’s ‘dominant’ victory over Wrexham and urged his side to push forward in the final four games of the season.
Blues returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over the Welsh side courtesy of second-half goals from Carlos Vicente and Christoph Klarer.
After a goalless first half that the hosts had the better of, Vicente headed home for his second goal in as many games.
Davies’ side pushed on in search of a second and were rewarded when captain Christoph Klarer prodded home from a corner.
The result moves Blues up to 15th in the Championship table with four games remaining, and Davies was delighted with his team’s showing.
“I thought we were utterly dominant, from start to finish,” he said.
“When the opposition doesn't have a shot at your goal and you could score two and could have scored four or five, then it shows you straight away that it’s a good day.
“But more than that, the attitude, the aggression, physicality, we were winning second balls, we were first in the ball, we were playing forward, running forward, pressing, chasing - all the things you want, all the things we want to see in our team, and they were all there today.
“I think we carried on from the Ipswich match where I felt we looked like a bit of a different animal. We were getting the ball forward quicker, getting wide, getting crosses in, but more than that, there was just a real competitiveness about us.
“Some games we have just been so inconsistent. But what we've done is we've got two consistent performances together there where we've looked much stronger.
“It's never easy, against a team that’s flying high. They're up there pushing for the play-offs, but that puts us, I think, two points off ninth place, so we have to just keep pushing and go for every game.”
